The perfectionist actor is miffed by reports that he is trying to harm writers, Aamir Khan has resigned from the 10-member committee formed by the government to look into the proposed amendments to the Copyright Act.

The panel which includes Javed Akhtar, Boney Kapoor, Mukesh Bhatt, Vishal Bharadwaj, Vishal Dadlani, Prasoon Joshi, Anjum Rajabli, Madhu Manthena and Bhushan Kumar had a meeting recently where Aamir and Javed Akhtar attacked each other publicly.

The question is what made a senior respected writer like Javed Saab and a well behaved perfectionist actor like Aamir loose their cool?.

According to our reports, its more of a clash of egos rather then of ideologies and Aamir who has always maintain a distance from controversy got himself dragged in for passing a ‘bold’ comment in front of a writer like Javed Saab.

The actor commented that lyricists don’t really contribute much to the impact of a song.

Javed Akhtar couldn,t take it and it soon became a war of words between him and Aamir. According to our source, “Aamir made it clear that he felt a song becomes a hit because it is picturised on a big star. To this Javed saab asked him, ‘Your first big song was Papa kehte hain. Did it make you a star or did you make that a song run?’

The issue for which they gathered was forgotten and both of them got engaged in a war of words.

Disturbed by this, Aamir resigned form the committee and in his resignation letter to Human Resources Development Minister Kapil Sibal, Aamir had written, “ "It seems to me that there is an attempt by certain people to attack me in public by printing lies about me, thereby turning the attention away from a genuine debate about copyright issues,"

He adds further by saying, “He is not driven by monetary achievements and never hesitates to do challenging work”

Fair enough then why side with the producers and acknowledge the achievements of the writers.

Even Aamir’s own production Lagaan would not have been what it is without the contribution of the veteran K.P. Saxena as the dialogue writer and Gulzaar Saab as the lyricist.

His TZP was supposed to be writer Amol Gupte’s launch pad as a helmer but later Aamir took it over.

As far as we know Aamir has always spoken about the team effort and has never interfered in the song writing of his films though he might have suggested other things to his makers.

The statement is a shocker as we know Aamir is not known to loose his cool whereas Javed Sahab is known for his public display of emotions.

But the point over here is of copyrights which the Cabinet has now showing interest for a change and not who should have said what as all believe that writers should get their dues.

This is a second blunder by Aamir after his blog on SRK where he named his pet in the name of the actor.

Well everybody has grey shades……. Insn,t it
